Riding the Coaster

Lots of ups and downs this past month. Things were going great 2 weeks ago. Paige was doing 2 bottles and 1 nursing a day, and had come way down on her oxygen support. Late last week she started to require more oxygen so they did some tests and found out that she had fluid in her lungs which was causing pulmonary hypertension. That's fancy talk for "not good". So they started her on meds, put her back on continuous tube feeds, and cut out the bottles and nursing for now. Her tests today showed significant improvement. She's come back down on her oxygen needs and the hypertension is pretty much gone now. They are going to give her another week to heal and grow before trying the bottle again. She did great with it before though, so we expect that she will do fine when we start up again.

One thing that we can check off the list now is "maintain body temperature". She's up to 3lb 4oz and is now out of her incubator in a big girl crib. We get to interact with her more now, and we can put her in clothes and get her out of the crib into her glider which she really enjoys.

Both our girls are getting bigger by the day. Here are some pictures from this past month. (click picture to view)
