Ellie is 10 Months Old!

During the last few weeks, it's become all too real that Ellie is definitely not an infant anymore. She outgrew her infant seat, baby tub, and swing. We are down to only one nursing a day, and as of Monday, she is moving up to the next room at 'school.' Tooth #6 is just about out. At this rate, she'll be eating steak by her first birthday. Changing diapers of 10 month olds should be a new Olympic event. I remember when putting her on her stomach for even the shortest amount of time would result in screaming beyond belief. She was so happy being on her back. In fact, we used to put down a blanket and lay her on the table even when we were out at dinner. Got us a few strange looks, especially at the hibachi restaurant, but hey, she would just lay there and let us eat in peace. Now, I can't get her to stay still for a second. Crawling is so cute until it's your kid that's doing it. We can't keep her contained in one area for more than 2 minutes, and she only wants to go where she isn't supposed to go. Forget the nice, soft carpet we put down in the family room. Hardwood is apparently so much cooler. Now she's even pulling herself up to the standing position. This is just too much.

We left Ellie with a real babysitter for the first time last week. It was kind of cheating because it was with Shannon, one of her teachers. I didn't call even once - texting doesn't count, and I only did that once. All in all, I was very proud of both of us.

I was able to get a video of some of her latest tricks. She's now playing peek-a-boo, waving, clapping, and blowing kisses. She can say dada, mama, and duck. Don't know how the duck thing started, but everything is a duck.

Here's another video. She didn't really do anything I asked her to, but at the end she gets all up in my face and starts laughing. Wait for it - It's very cute.
